oooOOO...DUCTS!

Strong Engineering Specification Leads to SaleThe MEP and Fire Protection Engineer on the project was Henderson Engineering of Lenexa, KS.  According to Eric Taylor of HEI, the Ruskin airflow measuring dampers played a key role in the design of the indoor comfort systems. “The Ruskin IAQ50X and CDRAMS dampers are both used in the Arena bowl distribution ductwork,” stated Eric.  “IAQ50X dampers are used in branch ductwork serving different zones within the bowl including the upper and middle sections of the bowl.  The CDRAMS dampers are used on individual diffuser’s branch ductwork for control of airflow to each device. These dampers are controlled by the building automation system based on space temperature demands similar to a VAV box without reheat.” Commenting on the purpose of utilizing Ruskin’s low leak control dampers with integral airflow measuring stations, Eric confirmed, “These products were used for three reasons. First, the integral airflow station simplifies the balancing procedure, and ensu ...

Ruskin VFBD25 ValueFlo True-Round Damper in Green Buildings

Test and balance is a critical part of every LEED project. The addition of the true-round VFBD25 balancing damper will significantly reduce the amount of time needed to set the required airflow through each branch of the air distribution system. The VFBD25 is a low noise solution, eliminates the need for hoods and is ideal for those hard-to-reach outlets.

Ruskin Air Measuring Products Ensure Proper Ventilation Control

Proper selection and implementation of Ruskin Air Measuring Products can help satisfy LEED prerequisites.  In Ruskin’s article LEED Ventilation and Air Measuring Products, find out how air measuring products can work for you in meeting the requirements of the ANSI/ASHRAE standard 62.1 and how this code requirement correlates to LEED EQ-P1. In addition, if these air measuring products are licensed to bear the AMCA seal, the building designer knows that he is specifying the products with proven performance.  Ruskin's IAQ Product Marketing Manager, Tim Vogel, refers to an AMCA Inmotion October 2006 article written by Michael Ivanovich, Editor-In-Chief of HPAC magazine. Stressing the importance of AMCA certification, Mr. Ivanovich states, “Specifying products that bear the AMCA Certified Ratings Seal is a credible way to ensure accurate and dependable, equipment that performs to published ratings as required by green building designers.” Also in LEED Ventilation and Air Measuring Products, find out how Ruskin ...
