AMCA International Holds First Air System Engineering and Technology Conference-US

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, March 19, 2018 – Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc. welcomed 90 consulting and application engineers, HVAC technicians, code officials, and product designers to San Antonio, Texas, March 6 and 7 for the inaugural Air System Engineering and Technology (ASET) Conference–US (ASET-US). The technical program was divided into two tracks—Air-Systems Design and Air Products & Technologies—with attendees free to attend sessions across tracks.

Eight Ruskin® Severe Weather Louvers Now Texas Department of Insurance Listed

Ruskin®, announces eight of its hurricane and wind-driven rain louvers are now Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) listed. This means the louver assemblies satisfy the TDI criteria for protection from windborne debris in both the Texas 120 mph Inland I zone and the 130 mph Seaward zone.

Larger IBDT Horizontal Sizes and the ABD-FD (IBDT)

Ruskin has increased the over-all size of the IBDT Thin Line Fire Dampers to 36" x 36". This increased the height from 12" to 36" tall (33% larger).

Project FAIL-SAFE Finds Sprinkler “Trade-Offs” Lead to Drop in Overall Fire Safety Scores

Ruskin is actively involved with the NFPA, ICC, NASFM, AMCA and other agencies to continuously evaluate and improve upon our passive fire protection products for increased life safety of buildings and in turn, the public. The most recent is Project Fail Safe with Fire Safe North America and National Association of State Fire Marshals. The initial data from the proprietary MATRIXᵀᴹ tool shows a decrease in building safety due to the decline in passive fire protection, such as life safety dampers. New Release and reports below.

5,000-square-foot addition to the existing Parsons facility

Ruskin recently expanded its Parsons, Kansas, manufacturing plant with a 5,000-square-foot addition to the existing facility. Opened in August, the new space supports production of the TDP05K advanced thermal dispersion air measurement system introduced earlier this year.

The EME520V wind-driven rain-resistant stationary louver is the newest louver offering from Ruskin. This five-inch vertically-oriented louver has best-in-class wind-driven rain performance (Class A at 29 and 50 mph). It also has good pressure drop.
