Testing and Monitoring of the Life Safety System was part of the design strategy at Oakland University's Human Health Building.

Already equipped with Ruskin Class 1 low leak high performance airfoil FSD60 dampers and TS150 firestats, Honeywell, the ATC on the project, contacted Ruskin representative Fontanesi & Kann Company for installation details on the Ruskin's Inpsector™ components. The project included (1) touchscreen FSDPC preloaded computer with (81) FSDI (Fire Smoke Damper Interface) cards. Also included in the project is factory commissioning performed by trained Ruskin Inspector™ factory engineers.

Human health can only happen with human safety. Ruskin's Inspector system communicates continuously with the building automation system and requires little maintenance or service. It satisfies the requirement to cycle dampers per NFPA but eliminates manual testing saving time and money.
